    Learn About
Our History

Built in 1927, the Miller Brothers Packing building has long been a part of Sylvester’s story. Now, we’re breathing new life into this local landmark, creating a warm, inviting space where locals and visitors can browse high-quality goods, discover unique finds, and connect with the community. Each vendor is carefully selected for quality, creativity, and authenticity — so every visit is a little different from the last.

The Miller Brothers Packing building has been part of Sylvester’s history since 1927 — and we want to honor its story. If you have old photos, articles, or personal memories of this building, we’d love to include them in Warrior Creek Mercantile’s story.

Where others saw a crumbling building, the Acords saw a chance to revive a piece of Sylvester’s story, transforming it into a vibrant retail destination for antiques, décor, and local vendors.

Known for his love of antique signs — from faded Coca-Cola ads to neon relics — Acord sees them as more than decoration; they’re historical markers that connect generations. His work, whether restoring buildings or salvaging timbers, blends craftsmanship, sustainability, and community pride.

For him, it’s never just about lumber — it’s about legacy. That passion for preserving history led him to take on one of his biggest projects yet: restoring the long-abandoned Miller Brothers Meat Packing Plant.
